Part-Time Work Information

Permission for Part-Time Work & Working Hours

International students who obtain permission for activities outside their visa status are allowed to work part-time up to 28 hours per week. During long vacations such as summer holidays, they may work up to 8 hours per day.

However, working more than 28 hours per week is not permitted. This 28-hour limit applies to the total working hours, even if you have multiple part-time jobs such as restaurants, convenience stores, or other workplaces.

Working without permission is considered illegal employment and may result in penalties or deportation.

Immigration authorities can monitor students’ part-time work status through various methods and investigations.

Although 28 hours per week may seem limited, in some countries international students are not allowed to work at all.
